Company history

1934
On the basis of many years of professional practice with reputable electrical manufacturers, on 1st November 1934, Erhard Römer founded the Erhard Römer dealership in its headquarters in Königstrasse 1 in Stuttgart.
The dealership was soon expanded by a small robot assembly in Stuttgart Vaihingen.
1945
As the lower part of Königstrasse was seriously damaged in the war, Erhard Römer relocated the company's headquarters to Werastrasse 88 in Stuttgart.
1948
Production of quiver brush mountings from brass profiles began in Stuttgart Vaihingen.
1958
New construction of the administration building with a production shop in the Remstal, near Stuttgart.
1959
Relocation of production to Weinstadt-Grossheppach. The company employs a workforce of around 15.
1960
Relocation of administration to Weinstadt-Grossheppach.
1965
Expansion of the production and storage areas to an area around three times larger.
1968
Renaming of the Römer company to Erhard Römer KG.
1974
Renaming of Erhard Römer KG to Erhard Römer GmbH & Co KG. Udo Römer joined the company to support his father.
1975
Erhard Römer, the company's founder, dies. Udo Römer becomes Managing Director.
1976
Construction of an additional production shop.
1977
Renaming of Erhard Römer GmbH & Co KG to Erhard Römer GmbH.
1992
New construction of an administration building with an assembly hall and an underground garage. The company employs a workforce of around 40.
1995
Certification to DIN EN ISO 9001.
2002
Georgios Noukas, son-in-law of Udo Römer, joins the company.
2006
Udo Römer hands over leadership of the company to Georgios Noukas.
2008
Erhard Römer GmbH starts to produce plastic injection mouldings in Weinstadt. The company employs a workforce of around 50.
2017
Georgios Noukas dies unexpectedly. Udo Römer re-assumes sole management of the company. In October, Jochen Ringwald is appointed Managing Director.
He has been with the company since 2002 and was initially responsible for the quality management division and later for construction and production.
2018
After investments in the stamping & shaping sectors and plastic injection,
Erhard Römer GmbH is presented on its redesigned homepage as a system supplier with a considerable range.
2022
Manuel Hägele will be appointed managing director on January 1st 2022. He has been with the company since 2000 and has been an authorized signatory since 2018. Jochen Ringwald puts the focus of his tasks at Erhard Römer GmbH back on the technical area.
